Theming has been published

Today I'm proud to announce that the Theming feature has been published. After publishing the Theming Feature Preview blog post we made a decision to extend Theming with automatic user agent detection options. This adds support for mobile themes and even enables you to develop special themes for search bots. There is a predefined set of built-in user agent filters, and an option to implement custom filters with PHP.

Other updates

Along with Theming we also added the option of changing the resources directory location, so now you can rename your /resources directory to anything you want. You can change the resources directory location on System/Settings/CMS Settings page:

Another minor change introduced in this update - "templates" have been renamed to "layouts". Layout is a more consistent term, because layouts define layout of common page elements. On the other hand, "templates" are better suitable when referring to files corresponding to pages, partials and layouts.

Enabling Theming

By default Theming is enabled in new LemonStand installations, but disabled in existing installations due to backwards compatibility considerations. You can enable Theming in your existing LemonStand installation with a special tool. Please read the Documentation for details. Please note that you should download the latest Installer if you want Theming to be enabled for your new LemonStand installations.

We updated our Basic and Simplicity themes. Updated themes are completely compatible with Theming feature.
