Installing LemonStand developer copies

The process of installing a developer copy of LemonStand is similar to installing a commerce or Beta copy. The only difference between a commerce and a developer license is that a developer copy contains a few encrypted PHP files which apply several limitations to the system.

In order to execute a developers copy, there should be a special PHP library (loader) installed on the server. Currently there are two loaders available - Zend Optimizer and IonCube. Please use the System Requirements Evaluation Tool to determine whether any loader is installed in your system. If no loaders are installed, the tool will suggest to you which loader is compatible with your PHP version and will provide a download link.

Changing the PHP encoder type

You will need to specify a preferable encoder (ZendGuard or IonCube) in the Request a Developer License form on the LemonStand website. If you choose a wrong encoder, you can change it on the License Details page in the My Account area on the  LemonStand website, even if you already installed LemonStand.

After changing the encoder type in the My Account area, please update your LemonStand copy. To force LemonStand to update all files, please go to the System/Modules & Updates page and click on the Check for Updates button. If there are no updates available, click the Force Update button (on the right side of the Update popup form). If there are any updates available, install them, click the Check for Updates button again and after that click the Force Updates button.

How to determine whether you do not have a correct PHP loader installed

If after logging into the Administration Area you see the following content on the Dashboard, then most likely you do not have a correct PHP loader installed. Also, many pages, including the Orders page, in the Shop section will not work.

Converting developer license into a commerce license

To convert a developer license into a commerce license, you need to pay the order which contain the license. Please log into the My Account area and find the licenses by its serial number or holder name. Click the payment button below the license details. After paying the order you need to update your LemonStand copy as it is described in the Changing the PHP encoder type section above.
