Setting the encryption key

LemonStand encrypts all sensitive data before saving it into the database. The encryption key used for encrypting and description data.

You should not change the encryption key for existing database after you started to work with it, because LemonStand do not re-encrypts data in this case and it will not be possible to decrypt any previously encrypted data. There is only one case when you may need to change the encryption key – when you transfer a database from one LemonStand installation to another (for example, from a developer workstation to a production server). Then, if encryption keys are different in the previous and new LemonStand copies, you will need to set the encryption key value in order to decrypt data.

To set the encryption key, please click the Encryption Settings item in the Configuration tool. Specify the encryption key value and click the Save button.
